Max And The
Backpack of Worries
A story about coping with perfection and pressure
Meet Max
Max is ten years old and he’s a determined dreamer who rarely backs down from a challenge. He loves football, bike tricks, motocross and anything that gives him the chance to test himself.
Fearless on the outside, Max is much more thoughtful and sensitive than people sometimes realise. He is witty, honest and loyal, and often thinks about how other people might be feeling.
But Max doesn’t always find it easy to say what is happening inside. He tends to guard his emotions and keep difficult thoughts to himself, which can make his worries feel louder than they need to be.
Through his story, Max begins to discover that opening up doesn’t make him any less brave. Sometimes, sharing what we are carrying is one of the most courageous things we can do.
Age: 10

Always carries: His football - ready for a game wherever he goes!
Max is ten and happiest when he’s on the move, racing his motocross bike, trying new tricks or chasing a football. He’s adventurous, energetic and always ready for a challenge.
But even someone as daring as Max can carry worries that others don’t see. Through his stories, he learns to understand his feelings, share what’s on his mind and remember that he doesn’t have to handle everything alone.
